Now Hiring - Forum Moderators

We are pleased to announce that we are looking to recruit two new moderators from the OFM membership for the UK Discussion Forums. This recruitment drive will allow some of our more experienced managers to take on some additional responsibility, and to help us continue to improve our vibrant community. The closing date for applications is 23.59 hours on Thursday 31st December 2009.

The Role

OFM currently operate 5 Discussion Forums :

- Season Ticket Holders
- Sports and Gaming
- General Cafe
- Football
- GB Forum

A Discussion Forum Moderator plays a key role in the running of OFM and carries some important responsibilities. These include :

- checking the forum at least twice daily, preferably more
- maintaining good organisation in the forum
- regularly starting and contributing to new, vibrant discussions
- issuing appropriate punishments and warnings for badly behaved members where appropriate
- working closely with OFM Staff members
- being committed to help improve the OFM experience for forum users

Whilst we are unable to offer any form of payment to our forum moderators, we would hope that some of our moderators may wish to move into an OFM staff role at some future point in time, should vacancies arise. Carrying out the duties of a forum moderator is an excellent way to get some experience of the day to day running of OFM and would hold you in good stead should you ever wish to be considered for a staff role.

The Criteria

You must fulfil all of the following criteria

(a) Must be aged 16 or over
(b) Must hold a season ticket, Premium or Normal
(c) Must not have been forum banned or locked for cheating in the last 6 months
(d) Must have a minimum of 50 matches experience
(e) Must be an active forum participant
(f) Must be able to commit some time each and every day to checking the forum you are assigned to
(g) Ideally should have English as your native language, but if your English is very good then please do apply
(h) Must be a friendly, outgoing and helpful person

Please don't waste your time (and ours!) by sending in an application if you know full well you do not meet the criteria.

How to apply

Send an e-mail to us at ofm.applications@googlemail.com with 'UK Discussion Forum Moderators' as the subject line stating :

(a) Your manager log in name
(b) In less than 30 words, why should we choose you?
(c) The first thing you would do if you were appointed a Forum Moderator (please be as creative and/or amusing as you can - originality goes a long way when we pick new people!)

The closing date is 23.59 hours on 23.59 hours on Thursday 31st December 2009.

What NOT to do

Don't apply if you don't meet all of the criteria.

Don't send Personal Messages to OFM staff about this recruitment exercise - your messages will be ignored. Anyone doing so will also have demonstrated an inability to follow simple instructions and this will count against them when we consider the applications at the end of the week.

If you have a specific query about the application criteria only please direct these to me, not to any other OFM staff member.

Good luck everyone.
